The foldable blinds (or external venetian blinds) allow the efficient graduation of sunlight to achieve the perfect lighting in a room through its adjustable slats. Moreover, they protect you from unwanted looks and can be used to darken the inside of a house. Therefore, regarding the roller shutters with tilting slats, the external venetian blinds have the advantage of requiring a much smaller box width and thus are a very useful structural solution. Another significant advantage is that they allow us to make wider widths in comparison to a “conventional” blind, reaching up to 5.2m depending on the model. Foldable blinds or external venetian blinds offer glare protection by allowing to adjust the intensity of sunlight coming into the house using rotating horizontal aluminium slats. They also prevent overheating and reduce energy consumption.
Foldable blinds guide options
There are two main options for slat guidance: wire guide and rail guide. 
The slats can be guided and can also be raised and lowered until they are fully closed. During the winter, the sun’s heat will be able to reach the inside of the house, maintaining privacy, as the slat is placed in its maximum orientation. At night, it prevents the entrance of coldness, obtaining effective insulation by closing the blind.
TYPES OF EXISTING SLATS
The most common slat sizes are 80 (Gradstor 80), 90 and 100mm and they can be edged or extruded aluminium (thicker) and protected with heat-strengthened paints in a continual process.
